All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Barbara Rivas brivas1@cox.net Cumberland County Deeds Grantor Book V Vol 1 p323 Deed Conrad Snyder & wife to Christian Howensteine This Indenture made the sixth day of April in the year of our Lord one thusand eight hundred and thirteen Between Conrad Snyder of Frankford township, Cumberland County and State of Pennsylvania, yeoman and Susanna his wife of the one part, and Christian Howenstein of Tyrone township in the County and State aforesaid of the other part whereas George Shneider & Margaret his wife & Jacob Shull and Magdalena his wife, by their Indenture bearing date the seventeenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven for the consideration therein mentioned did grant and confirm unto the said Conrad Snyder a certain tract of land situate in Tyrone township Cumb'd. County, adjoining lands of Peter Fishburn & land of John Parkinson & others Containing two hundred and fifty two acres & allowe. as in and by the said Indenture may more fully appear. Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Conrad Snyder and Susanna his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania to them in hand paid by the said Christian Howenstein at and before the ensealing and delivering hereof, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof acquit and forever discharge the said Christian Howenstein his heirs executors and administrators, by these presents, have granted, bagained sold, aliened enfeoffed, released and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said Christian Howenstein and to his heris and assigns all that certain piece or tract of land situate in Tyrone township Cumberland County and State aforesaid It being part of the above described tract of land, bounded and described as follows to wit Beginning at a Chesnut oak thence by land of John Souder, North two degrees west one hundred & Seventy one perches to a stake thence by land of Henry Long, North eighty six degrees West sixty nine perches to a red oak, thence by land of the heirs of John Parkison South seven degrees and a half East twenty perches to a white oak, South two degrees and a fourth East sixty nine perches to a Chesnut oak, North eighty nine degrees West fifty one perches to a stone South six degrees West fifty nine perches to a stone North eighty one degrees East thirty three perches and three quarters to a stone, South sixty one degrees and a half East eleven perches and three fourth to a post & South seventy five degrees East eighty five perches to the Beginning. Containing seventy four acres & allowance of six per cent for Roads Together with all and singular other the houses, out houses, buildings, ways, woods, waters, watercourses, rights, liberties, privileges, hereditaments, and appurtenances whatsoever, thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the reversions and remainders unto issues and profits thereof and also all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Conrad Snyder & Susanna his wife in law or equity, or otherwise howsoever of in to or out of the same and every party .thereby to have and to hold the said piece or taract of land containing seventy four acres and allowance herditaments and premises, hereby granted or mentioned, or intended to be, with the appurtenances unto the said Christian Howenstein his heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit and bwehoof of the said Christian Howenstein his heirs and assigns forever free and clear of all incumbrances whatsoever In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have here unto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written Sealed & Delivered in the presence of Conrad Snider (seal) Jas. Witness present Conrad Snyder CUmberland County Be it remembered that on the 6th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen, Before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County came the within named Conrad Snyder & Susanna his wife and acknowledged the within written Insturment of writing to their act and deed and desired that the same might be recorded as such according to law the said Susanna being of full age and by me first examined separate and apart of her said husband acknowledged that she executed the same of her own free will and accord without any threats coercion or compulsion of her said husband.
