The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** While a resident of Cumberland County Pennsylvania David Milligan enlisted early in 1776., served as private in Captain Jeremiah Talbot's compnay, Coloniel Irvine's Pennsylvania regiment, was in the expedition to Canada and in the Battle of Three rivers, where taken prisoner carried to Quebec and put on a vessel bound for England, on aarriving there he was put on the Cornwall and sailed along the coast of Africa was out about 6 months and on his return to England he was transferred to the Loviaibea and sailed for New York on reaching New York he went ashore to procure fruit, deserted and went to Philadelphia and thence to Cumberland County Pennsylvania. He enlisted May 25 1781 in a company of Rangers commanded by Captain Boyd and Lt. Richard Johnston, and was out to protect the settlement along Dunnon's Creek from the invasions of the Indians, and countinued in this service until in June 1783. The soldier David Milligan was living in Harrison County Ohio in 1819. He was allowed pension on his application executed July 23 1833. in Harrison County Ohio and his widow Mary Died Nov 20 1847 or 1848 in the state of Ohio. The following children survied their mother Mary Milligan and were allowed the pension due her John, David., Sarah, Joseph, William, Thomas, and Polly Millar. The above mentioned John Milligan was born Dec 29 1788 and in 1851 was of Clark County Illinois and the administrator of the estate of the widow Mary Milligan. The follwoing daata is found in the claim John Milligan married Feb 15 1816 Sarah Arnold Sarah Milligan died Dec 2 1817 (which is John's wife) Mary Jain Milligan born Sept 4 1817 is John Milligans daughter. John Milligan married August 2 1821 Susanna Sullivan Elizabeth Betty Milligan born May 3 1824 is Johns daughter Susanna Taylor Milligan born March 12 1831 is Johns daughter Sarah Milligan born Nov 22 1835 Sarah J. or P. Rogers was born Sept 9 1830 died Dec 16 1845 Carlinda Rodgers born March 9 1847 It says that David and Mary married in Mifflin twp, Pennsylvania. David died dEc 8 1833 Mary died November 1843
