Nelson Irvine, 89, Dies in Florida The death of Nelson A. Irvine, 89, a former local retired Pennsylvania railroad timekeeper, in Miami, Fla, Friday, was learned today. A longtime resident of this city, Mr. Irvine belonged to the Presbyterian church., Orient Lodge of the Masons, Woodmen of the World, and the Pennsylvania Veterans. He was born in Pennsylvania, Feb. 7, 1860, and entered the service of the railroad as a clerk in the local shops on April 2, 1881. He was made chief timeskeeper on July 1, 1893, and retired Feb. 1, 1926. While here he resided at 418 Eighth Street. Survivors include the wife, Ida, of Indianapolis; a son, William C. Irvine, and several brothers. The body is being shipped from Florida to the Chase-Miller funeral home. Final arrangements are pending.
