Hess fhess518@comcas.net May 9, 2010, 1:11 pm Source: Cumbeland County, Pa Will Book K- Page 247& From Pa State Archives Microfilm Records Written: October 15, 1824 Recorded: February 23, 1831 The last will and testament of John Fireaben In the name of God amen, I John Fireaben of North Middleton Township, Cumberland County & state of Pennsylvania, farmer, being of sound mind and judgment do dispose of my worldly estate in the following manner viz: I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret two feather beds, to have her choice with all the bed clothes and bedding belonging, also two bed steads, six chairs, one dinning table one large looking glass, all the carpeting belonging to the house, also such kitchen furniture as she wants in the house, one burrow [sp], one saddle, two cows and a calf, two sheep, all the articles of her own making. I likewise give unto my daughter Margaret fifty dollars. I give and bequeath to my son Jacob one hundred dollars, I allow and I empower my executors to sell and convey my plantation as soon as convenient and the money arising from the sale to be divided among all my children equally, also my personal property after my funeral expenses and the above legacies, but if my personal property should not amount to pay the above legacies then to be paid equivalent from the shares of my other children arising from the plantation. Lastly I nominate and appoint Honteter Wonderly and William Drennon of the township and County aforesaid, likewise Jacob Sailor of Rye township Perry County executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereinto set my hand and seal the fifteenth day of October one thousand eight hundred and twenty four. John Fireaben (X his mark) Witnesses present, Ursula Lamberton, William Armstrong (X his mark) Be it remembered that on the twenty third day of February Anno Domini One Thousand eight hundred and thirty one the last will and testament of John Fireaben late of North Middleton township in the county of Cumberland dec’d was legally proven and that letters Testamentary were issued on the 25th day of the same month to Jacob Sailor one of the executors therein named, Honteter Wonderly having died and William Drennon having renounced. Hess (May 9th 2010) John Fireaben [Feierabend / Fireoved] is believed to have been born in Konigsburg, Neckarkreis District, Wuerttemburg (Germany) ca 1745. Dec. 24, 1772 John Feierabend signed his name subscribing to the Oaths of allegiance at the courthouse in Philadelphia. This group were from the brig Morning Star [Morton Star], commanded by George Demster, which came from Rotterdam. He married Elizabeth H. Bickel (d. 1818) on April 22nd 1777 in Christ Lutheran Church, Stouchsburg, Berks County, PA. They had the following children: 2 i. Maria Elizabeth FIREOVED was born (date unknown). +3 ii. Christiana FIREOVED, born 9 Nov 1773, Lebanon Township, Lancaster County, PA; married Jacob SEILER, 22 Sep 1803, First Presbyterian Church, Carlisle, Cumberland County, PA; died 11 Feb 1844, Carroll Township, Perry County, PA. Same Jacob Sailor who was the executor of the above will for John Fireaben. 4 iii. Henry Mayer FIREOVED was born on 20 Apr 1783 in Lebanon Township, Lancaster County, PA. He was christened on 20 Apr 1783 in Salem Lutheran, Lebanon, PA. +5 iv. Mary Catharine FIREOVED, born abt 1783, Lebanon Township, Lancaster County, PA; married Henrich SEILER, 11 Aug 1802, the Hebron Moravian Church near Lebanon, PA by Rev. Nanthaniel Braun; died aft 1868. Henrich was the brother of Jacob Seiler. 6 v. George FIREOVED was born before 1789 in Lebanon Township, Dauphin County, PA. +7 vi. John FIREOVED, born 13 Oct 1789, Lebanon Township, Dauphin County, PA; married Lydia ; died 5 Mar 1852, Hampden Township, Cumberland County, PA. +8 vii. Solomon FIREOVED, born 16 Mar 1791, Lebanon Township, Dauphin County, PA; married Catharine SWARTZ, 1811; married Elizabeth HAAK, 14 Oct 1817; died 14 Jun 1883, Ohio. 9 viii. Jacob FEYERABEND / FIREOVED was born (date unknown). 10 ix. Margaret FEYERABEND / FIREOVED was born (date unknown).
