Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Brother William Forster a Certain House and Lott sett(?) ale in Carlisle aforesaid Whereon William Blyth now lives (my said Brother William being by trade an Apothecary at Hexam in the County of Northumberland in England or at Norham near Berwick Upon Tweed)Whereas I am entitled to divers Tracts of Land in the said County of Cumberland for some of which I have procured Warrants & for the Residue have Bills of Sale Deed & all which Lands I also give and Devise & Bequeath unto my said Brother William Forster, and also give and Bequeath unto my said Brother William Forster all such sum & sums of money as shall be due to me at the time of which will appear by my Bonds Notes Book Accounts etc. But in case my said Brother William Forster shall refuse to Come into this Country within Eighteen Months after my Decease then I give & Devise & Bequeath all the aforemetioned House and Lott Severall Tracts of Land and outstanding Debts aforesaid to my Brother Thomas Forster of Norham near Berwick Upon Tweed To hold to him, his heirs and assigns for Ever Provided Nevertheless that if my said Brother Thomas do Refuse of Neglect to Come into this Country within six months After the Expiration of these Eighteen Months Limited for the Coming in of my said Brother William Forster aforesaid Then the House and Lott and Severall Tracts of Land aforesaid shall be sold my Exrs hereafter Mentioned and the Moneys arising therefrom to be applied or Paid to my said Brother William Forster his hrs. or assigns or failing him or them to be paid to my Brother Thomas Forster his Heirs or assigns and I do Nominate and Appoint my Trusted Friends Francis West Esq. and Mr. John Smith Merchant both of Carlisle aforesaid to be the Executors of this my last Last and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal this Seventeenth Day of [month missing] in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty seven A Forster (seal) Signed Sealed Published and declared by the before named Arthur for and as his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us Thos.
