Grayson EMAIL: mgrayson98@aol.com DATE: Oct 27 1999 The will of Melchior Hoffer, Sr. of the Boro of Carlisle, in the County of Cumberland, in the state of Pennsylvania was legally proven on 11 April 1843. ( This is a truncated version, but if you are interested in the full text, please contact me)... ....And I also give and bequeath to my said wife (Mattie McClelland) the income of my Real Estate during her life for her use and support and after her decease it is my and and I do order and direct that my Executors or the survivor of them sell that part of my personal state retained by my said wife or so much thereof as may remain, and also sell and convey my Real Estate either at public or private sales as they may deem most expedient.......... .....And the Avails of my whole estate both Real and Personal I dispose of as follows:... To my son William Hoffer, and my daughter Mary Bryan I give and bequeath the sum of twenty dollars each, to be paid them within one year after the decease of my said wife Martha, but to be without interest until demanded. (note: William and Mary were children from his first wife, name unknown. Mary and her husband, John Bryan left PA around 1830, prior to Melchior's death. Mary's husband died before 1840, and she and her family moved to Tippecanoe County, IN. It is not known if Mary or William ever recieved anything from their father's estate.) And all the rest and residue of my whole estate Real and Personal I bequeath to my six other children, to wit: Catherine Bell, Melchior Hoffer, Elizabeth Reed, James, John and Jacob Hoffer, to be equally divided between them share and share alike. And lastly I do hearby nominate, constitute and appoint my sons Melchior Hoffer and Jacob Hoffer to be the Executors of this my last will and testeament.............
