H. 417. Last Will & Testament of Robert Highlands, Dec'd. In the Name of God, Amen. I Robert Highlands of the County of Cumberland and State of Pennsylvania, being in a afflicted state of Body, but sound in understanding and judgment, Knowing the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of time, hereof being Desirous to Settle my Worldly affairs in the following manner, first and principally I submit myself to the Care of Almighty God and my Body to the earth at the Discretion of my Executors and after my just Debts is paid and Funeral Expenses paid I do give and Bequeath to my oldest Brothers John Highlands heirs Nathaniel, Margaret, Rebecka, Thomas, William Highlands, Elizabeth Cummins & Jane Maps all Equal share of the Real Estate to be sold at the death of my father. Elizabeth Cummins & Jane Maps is to be paid four Hundred Dollars Extra each out of the Real Property and my personal property is to pay Expences or Charges against the part of the Estate that I hold and the residue to be divided Equally and Lastly I do appoint hereby appoint and constitute Robert Cummons and Adam Snoddy Executors of my last Will and Testament Revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made, Ratifying and Confirming this and none other to be my last Will and Testament. In Testimony of I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this 15th day of March 1810 one Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixteen. Robert Highlands Signed Sealed published & declared By Robert Highlands the above named Testator as and for his Last Will & Testament in the presence of us and in the presence of each other herein subscribed out names as Witnesses thereto. Ashael S. Mapps William Harrison (his mark) Cumberland County S/S Personally appeared before me Geo. Kline, Jr. [?] for Geo. Kline, Register for the probate of Wills and granting letters of Administration in and for the said County, Ashael S. Maps and William Harrison the witnesses to the within Instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and Testament of Robert Highlands, dec'd. And being duly sworn according to law depose and say that they saw the testator Sign publish pronounce and declare the within as and for his last Will and Testament that at the time of the so doing he was of a sound and disposing mind and memory that they Signed as Witnesses at the request of the Testator in his presence and in the presence of each other. Sworn and subscribed Asahel S. Mapps 5th August A.D.1816 Before Wm. Harrison [his mark] me Geo Kline [???] On the 5th August A.D. 1816 the last will and testament of Robert Highlands was legally proven and letters issued same day to the Executors in the will named.
