The Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Kitch, Deceased In the name of God, Amen. I, Elizabeth Kitch, of Perry County and State of Pennsylvania, being sick and weak in body but of sound mind, memory, and understanding (Praised be God for it) and considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and to the end I may be the better prepared to leave this world whenever it shall please God to call me home, do therefore make and declare this my last will and testament in manner following. I give the sum of Ten dollars to the burying ground wherever I may be buried. I give and bequeath to my Sister Mary CornmanÕs children the sum of Two hundred dollars to be equally "divided" among them, share and share alike. I give and bequeath the sum of fifty dollars to my nephew John Kitch. I give and bequeath the sum of fifty dollars to my niece Mary Magdalena Cornmany to be placed in the hands of my nephew John Cornman to be given to her (in case she needs it) as she needs it, and at her decease if any part or the whole of it should not be needed, I allow to my nephew John KitchÕs children. I give and bequeath to my nephew John KitchÕs children all my wearing apparel, Copper Kettle, Clock, Books, Beds and Bedding, Household and Kitchen furniture, and all my moveable property of whatsoever kind it may be, and the ___ and Remainder of my estate I give and bequeath to my brothers and sisters children, each family to get their fatherÕs and motherÕs part Share and Share alike, except my Sister Catharine GardnerÕs Children which share I allow to be placed in the hands of William Ryan Cambpell for my said sisterÕs use in case she needs it and at her decease then I allow it to go to her children and except Mary Magdalene Cormanys share, which I allow to be placed in the hands of my nephew John Cornman for her use in case she needs it and if said "share" is not used at her decease then I allow it to go to her children and if she should die without any heirs, then I allow it to go to John Kitch and I make and ordain my two nephews John Kitch and John Cornman to be the executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making "void" all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof I, Elizabeth Kitch, the testator have to this my ____ hand and seal this twenty first day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight. CODICIL Whereas I, Elizabeth Kitch, the above testator having made and duly executed my last will and testament in writing bearing twenty first day of June AD one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight, then I am hereby making this present writing to be as a codicil to my said will and direct the same to be annexed thereto, and taken as a part thereof. And I do hereby give and bequeath my nephews son David Kitch the sum of fifty dollars in silver, and the further sum of five dollars in gold, but in case he should die and not need it then I allow it to go to his brother Jacob Kitch which said sums to be placed in the hands of my nephew John Kitch to put on interest and paid out when required. Signed, Sealed, and published by the said Elizabeth Kitch as an codicil to be added to and considered as a part of her last will and testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as witnesses this twenty sixth day of October, AD one thousand eight hundred and forty eight. Witnesses were David Spohr and Abraham Lamberton. The witnesses testified on 25th October, 1849 that they were present when the will and codicil were signed.
