The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Last Will and Testament of Levi Mellinger Copy I Levi Mellinger of North Middleton Township Cumberland County Pennsylvania do make and publish this my last will and testament as follows to wit: Subject to the payment of my just debts funeral expenses and the cost of marking the place of my interment in a suitable manner I dispose of my estate as follows: 1st I direct that the judgment I hold against my nephew Samuel Shughart be reduced to six hundred dollars and all over that amount I direct shall be satisfied. The remainder I direct shall be made payable in equal annual payments of One Hundred dollars each without interest - the first payment to be made in one year after my death. 2nd All the rest and residue of my estate I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sarah Jane for and during the term of her natural life and after her death I direct that the same shall be converted into money and divided equally between my sister Mrs. Shughart and the children of my three deceased sisters in such manner that if all of my four sisters were living each would have an equal one fourth share - the children and descendants of these who are dead to take the one fourth part that my deceased sister would have taken, and all to take by representation. Lastly: I nominate and appoint my friend S. W. Lehn to be my executor and I empower him after the death of my wife to sell and convey in fee simple to the purchaser or purchasers there of all the real estate of which I may die seized or be entitled to and I intrust him with the managing of my farm and affairs for my wife during her life.
