Page 68, part 1 on LDS film 12206 In the name of God Amen - I David McAllister of Cumberland County and Province of Pennsylvania being very sick and weak in body but perfect mind and memory praise to God and calling to mind the voracity of the body to make this to be my last will and testament and first of all I commit my soul unto the hands of God that gave and my body to be buried in the earth in a Christian and decent manner at the discretion of my executor - to such worldly estate hath praise God to bless me within this life I bequeath the following manner and from viz. I order and it is my will that to my dearly beloved wife Phanewell or Phinewell receive one hundred pounds current money to be paid to her by my executor and the first rate (?) of my lands piece together with my black horse, his saddle and one cow and all my household furniture except such things as at after bequest is full (fulfilled ?) I give the following articles to the following persons viz. To my father, my sister-inÑlaw bone (sp?). To my brother John my saddle and my boots. To my brother Richard my pagties (sp?) and hueters (sp?). To John McKnight, my sword. To my brother James, my brown coat and jacket, to my brother Daniel my gray cloth suit, to my brother Andrew my rifle gun and slip cont., and to my brother Archibald my Nankin (sp?) jacket and black velvet breeches and six sheets. To my mother and sister Jean, a gold ring to each. To my brother John's son, Guen (sp?) Evas and daughter Phebe, 20 shillings each. All the rest and sum under my estate I give and bequeath to my only daughter Sarah Betts, my said child having in her minority or non-age I order and it is my will that 50 pounds of her share be equally divided between my brother JohnÕs five children share and share alike and the remainder of her share be equally divided between my wife Phanewill, my father, my brothers - John, James, David, Andrew, Archibald and Jean, share and share alike. Also I order that my sister Jean to have a looking glass bought for her out of my estate at price of 20 shillings. And I order and so hereby empower my executor after named to make a proper conveyance to Alex Boyd of the lands I sold him and act to what is necessary to be done in ye premises as fully and ample as I was present or cared to do myself and I do hereby empower Chinby (sp?) pursuant John McCune and John McKnight Esq, executors of this my last will and testament. In the name of God Amen, I Archibald McCallister of the township of West Pennsboro and county of Cumberland Pennsylvania being very sick and weak in body but of a perfect mind and memory praise to God, do make this my last will and testament. First of all I recommend my soul to the hands of God who gave it and my body to be buried in the earth in a Christian and decent manner at the discretion of my executor. As to what worldly goods it has pleased God to bless me within this life I give and dispose of in the following manner viz. I order and it is my will that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid, I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Jean the one-half of all my personal estate and household furniture except what is hereafter mentioned which together with what my son Andrew is to do for her in full of her dower. I give and bequeath to my son John the book called the "Whole Works of Flavel" and all my wearing apparel. I give bequeath to my sons Richard, James and Archibald and daughters, Mary and Jean to each of them one book called "Flavel's Whole Works". I give and bequeath to my son Andrew the copy of Flavel's book that is in the house and also his black coult (sic) to enable him to buy the aforesaid books. To my granddaughter, Mary McKnight, my big pots. I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Mary Elizabeth and Jean's children, the daughters of my son Daniel McAllister, each to have one sheep. I give and bequeath to my grandson Archibald (son of my son James) my gun. All the residue and remainder of my estate, real and personal I give and bequeath to my son Andrew, to him and his heirs and assigns forever together with one feather bed which lies in the backroom. I order that my son Andrew pay out all debts and the funeral expenses out of his share. I also give to my granddaughter Mary McCallister aforementioned to have my chest and I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Andrew my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking disannulling all former wills and testaments made by me, ratified, confirming this to be my last will and testament in witness thereof I have set my hand and seal this 7th day of September 1768, signed, sealed published declared in the presence of us. (his life span 1701-1769) In the name of God Amen, the 19th day of April in the year of our Lord 1769, Hugh McAllister of Terone (sic) Twp in the County of Cumberland, Gentleman, being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say from cipally (sp?) and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hands of God that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my executors. Nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherein it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form Imprimis. The plantation to be sold by publik (sic) vendue and my youngest son James when free from his apprenticeship is to receive the third of the price of it. Likewise I allow according to justice that John McGray receive 2 pounds in recompense to my living with him. Whereas I have disposed of my worldly goods and estate. In the name of God Amen, I, Duncan McAllister of the town of Carlisle in Cumberland County being of perfect mind and memory (blessed be to God for the same) do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner and form following that is to say impories (sp?) recommend my soul unto Almighty God who gave it me and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian manner at the discretion of my executors in hopes of a joyful resurrection through the merits of my redeemer Jesus Christ and as far that worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give and dispose thereof as follows - first I give and bequeath one fourth of all my real and personal estate (excepting what I hereafter otherwise dispose of) to Archibald White, son of my sister Margaret. Also I give and bequeath one fourth part unto Catharine White, daughter of my sister Margaret. Also I give and bequeath the remaining one half of all my real and personal estate (excepting as noted as before) unto my kinsman Daniel McMichael, John McMichael and James McMichael which one half is to be divided among them as follows, viz. The said Daniel is to have 2/3 thereof and the remaining 1/3 is to be equally divided between the aforesaid John and James. Also I give and bequeath to aforesaid Catharine White all the house and lot of ground situated on Nont (North?) Street in the said town of Carlisle aforesaid wherein I now live to hold the aforesaid house and lot of ground with appurtenances unto the said Catharine White and her heirs assigns forever. Also I give and bequeath unto Catharine McDonald, daughter of Duncan McDonald 10 pounds to be paid to her in one year after my decease and to be put out at interest for her under the care of said father until she be of full age. Also I give and bequeath 30 pounds which is due me pro bono by Peter Smith as follows that is to say give 5 pounds thereof. I give and bequeath unto the Rev Jno. Steel of Carlisle other 5 pounds - I give and bequeath to help to finish the stone Presbyterian church lately erected in Carlisle by the congregation of Rev John Steel aforesaid, the remaining 20 pounds aforesaid Beno Aft (sp?) interest thereof due and shall come due. I give and bequeath to the Poor of Carlisle which by Rev John Steel or his elders or sessions, as they shall judge proper. In the name of God Amen, I, John McAllister of Rye Twp, Cumberland Co and State of Pennsylvania, britches maker being of sound mind and memory thanks be to God, do this 18th day February in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and ninety two (1792) make publish this my last will and testament in manor (sic) following. That is to say firstly, I give to my kinsman John Cain and his wife of this township 100 acres apiece a percle (sic) of land lying in the county of Allegany in the second district of donation land No. 401 containing 200 acres and allowances by survey. Also I give to my two brothers Daniel & Charles McCallister and to their heirs ensigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing 100 acres of land situate in Mustingum (sp?) for which the order of survey now remains in the hands of Mr Mayards surveyor of Carlisle. Be it remembered that I, Tobias McAllister, of Rye Twp, Cumberland County and state of Pennsylvania, yeoman, being very sick and weak of body but of sound and disposing mind and memory, thanks be to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, I do make and ordain this my last will and testament in the manner and form following, that is to say, I recommend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to a decent and Christian burial at the discretion of my executors herein after named and as touching and concerning such worldly estate as it shall please God and bless me both at the time of my decease. I give and bequeath the same as followeth: 1st of all it is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral charges be fully paid and satisfied as soon as convenient after my decease. Imprimis I give and bequeath to my dearly and well beloved wife Hesther McAllister for the and during her term of her widowhood, the one third part my moveable property and one part of the profits and issues of the plantation whereon I now dwell being the plantation I purchased of Jacob Towson, situate in the township, county and state aforesaid to have and hold the said profits unto her my said wife during her widowhood, provided she commit no waste or devastation on the said premises and moreover to have her bed and bed clothes and wearing apparel in full and I do also bequeath to my sister Mary McAllister the sum of one pound ten shillings and five bushels of wheat to be to her yearly during her natural life but of the profits and issues of the aforesaid plantation of land and moreover to be buried decently at the expense of the said plantation - after her death of need to require it, that is to say, if she is not possessed of so much worldly substance as would defray the expenses of her burial and I do also bequeath unto James Donnelly, eldest son of my wife Hesther by her former husband, the sum of ten pounds tp be paid unto the said James Donnelly - after the term of ten years after the date hereof and the remainder of all and every part of my real and personal property after the aforementioned debts and legacies are paid. I do hereby bequeath unto my son Samuel McAllister to the proper use and behoof of him forever, nevertheless be it provided that if my son Daniel McAllister should happen to died without lawful issue or before he attains the age of 21 years then it is my will that all and every part and parcel of the property which I now bequeath to him shall be equally divided between my wife Hesther and my sister Mary McAllister, that is to say share and share alike after their decease to the nearest heirs. And I nominate constitute and appoint Samuel Deane and James Devin my trusty and loving friends both of Tyrone Twp to be executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all and every former will in witness and confirmation thereof I have set my hand and seal this 15th day of June year of our Lord seventeen hundred and ninety five.
