We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ Will of William Ross dated Sept 28, 1764, Cumberland County In the name of God Amen the Twenty Eight Day of Sept One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Four I William Ross of East Pennsborough Twownship and County of Cumberland in the province of Pennsylvania "from an", being very sick and weak in Body but of Perfect mind and memory Thanks be given unto God Therefore Calling into mind the Mortality of my body and knowing that its appointed for All men Once do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament. That is to say "Pennupa" and first of All I Give And Recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be Buried in Christian Burial at the discretion of my "bhse" Nothing Doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall recieve the same again by the Mighty Power of God And as "touching" such Worldly Estate When with it hath pleased God is bless me with in this life I Give Devise and Dispose of the same in the Following Manner and form, Imprimis I give Devise & Bequeath unto my son James Ross one half of all my land and Real Estate and I give and Bequeath the other half of my land and Real Estate unto my other son William Ross to be so divided Between my said two sons as each will have an equal part of Meadow land and Cleared land Each one of my sons to have his part of said land for an inheritance but if either of my above said son shall happen to die before he come to Maturety then I allow the surviving one to Enjoy the whole of my said land him his heirs and assigns forever and I allow all my just Debts & Proprietor dues for my land to "?????????" First out of my Personal Estate ITEM I give to my daughter Phebe the sum of Thirty Pounds: or the value thereof, ITEM I give to my daughter Jean the sum of Twenty Shillings to be paid her when my son William arrives at the age of Twenty One Years or ten years hence and one "Gound" of the "Cloath non" at the Hulling Mill and I allow my son in LAW James "F"inton to live on my plantation until the Spring After Next to Eat the Crops he has in the ground and I "likewise" give all the remainder of my Personal Estate to my two sons James and William to be equally divided Between them, After they pay my daughter Rebecca the sum of Thirty Pounds or the value thereof which I give her to be paid unto her by them at the end of Ten Years to be paid without interest and I allow my three youngest daughters to live together "to live(crossed out)" in my house with my two sons And to Eat the produce of my plantation and to work together until each of them arrives to the age of Twenty One If my said daughters be not otherways Provided before that time and I allow James Galbreath Esq. if he pleases to recieve so much of my money to pay the Proprietor As Above for my land and "aget" a patent for it for my two sons James, William in their names and I Constitute make and ordain Jonathan Hoge David
