All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/dauphin/ _______________________________________________ 1811 2 Jan 1811 Orphans Court Dauphin County, Pennsylvania Upon the Petition of Jacob Gingrich eldest son of John Gingrich late of Anville township in the county of Dauphin, yeoman, deceased Stating that the said John Ginrich lately died intestate, viz in the year A.D. one thousand eight hundred and six leaving a widow named Elizabeth, who is yet single, and issue seven children namely Jacob, the petitioner, John who is a minor whose guardian is John Hostetter, Magdalena, Elizabeth, Anna, Mary & Barbara who are all five minors and whose guardians are Jacob Boehm and Jacob Mumma and that the said intestate died siezed in his demesne as of fee and in a certain plantation or tract of land with the appurtenances situate in the township of Annville & county of Dauphin, bounded by lands now of Joseph Gingrich, Abraham Berkholder, John Hostetter, Henry Long and others, containing about two hundred & fifty acres and allowance it be the same more or less. And therefore praying the Court to award an Inquest to make partition of the premises aforesaid to and among the children and representatives of the said intestate in such manner and in such proportions as by the laws of the Commonwealth is directed, if such partition can be made without prejudice to or spoiling the whole but if such partition cannot be made thereof as aforesaid then to value and appraise the same and make report of their proceedings herein according to law under their hands and seals, and further to inquire and ascertain and report to the court whether the same will conveniently accommodate more than one of the heirs of the said deceased and if so how many, and make report of their proceedings to the next General Orphans Court. The Court do order the Sheriff of Dauphin County forthwith to summon an Inquest to make partition of the premises aforesaid to and among the widow and children and legal representatives of the said intestate in such manner and in such proportions as by the laws of this Commonwealth is directed, if such partition can be made thereof without prejudice to and or spoilng the whole, but if such partition cannot be made thereof as aforesaid, then to value and appraise the same and further to ascertain and report whether the same premises will conveniently accomodate more than one of the children of the said intestate and if so how many. And the Court do further order that the Sheriff take with him a Surveyer who shall ascertain the exact quantity of land contained in the said tract. That notice of such partition or valuation be given to all the parties interested and that the said Sheriff and Inquest make report of their proceedings herein to the next General Orphans' Court By the Court
