Present Club House, Front and Market streets, opened April 1, 1897. THE CHARTER Section 1. A. J. Dull, Lyman D. Gilbert, David Watts, W. B. Lamberton and William Ker, citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and such other persons as are now associated as the HARRISBURG CLUB, or may hereafter become members of the same, are hereby constituted a perpetual body corporate, under the name of the HARRISBURG CLUB. Secion 2. The said corporation is formed under the sixth division of the second section of the act entitled "An act to provide for the incorporation and regulation of certain corporations," approved the 29th day of April, A.D. 1874, as a permanent social club, for the promotion and intercourse and enjoyment of its members, and such kindred purposes as the Club may from time to time determine, and to that end to obtain and enjoy all the rights, powers and privileges conferred by the above recited act and the supplements thereto. Sec. 3. The place of business of the corporation is the City of Harrisburg. Sec. 4. The business of the corporation shall be managed by a President, Secretary and Treasurer, and a board of Directors, and such other offices, agents and factors as may be authorized by the corporation for that purpose. Sec. 5. The names and residences of those chosen Directors for the first year are: President, A. J. Dull, Front and Chestnut streets. Secretary, J. M. Lamberton, 114 North Second street. Treasurer, William K. Alricks, Bolton House. L.S. Bent, Steelton. Paul Charlton, 23 South Front street. Harvey Fisher, Harrisburg. William Ker, 3 South Front street. M. E. Members may be either resident or non-resident, but no person residing within twenty miles of the city of Harrisburg shall be a non-resident member, nor shall such non-resident member have the right of voting: Provided, however, That persons temporarily resident or doing business in the city may, at the discretion of the Governing Committee, be elected as non-resident members; and Provided further, That any non-resident member who shall become a permanent resident within the limits above prescribed shall thereby become a resident member, and shall pay an additional entrance fee of twenty-five dollars.
