All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/dauphin/ _______________________________________________ 1815 1 April 1815 Dauphin County Deed Book Z Vol 1 Page 579 Jacob & John Detwiler to David Gingrich This Indenture Made the first day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifteen Between Jacob Detwiler and John Detwiler both of the township of Dery in the County of Dauphin and State of Pennsylvania farmers of the one part and Daivd Gingrich of the townsip County and state aforesaid farmer of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jacob Detwiler & John Detwiler for and in Consideration of the sum of One thousand five hundred and four dollars lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said David Gingrich, at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt and payment whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof acquit and forever discharge the said David Gingrich his heris executors and administrators by these presents. Have granted bragained sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents Do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff releave and confirm unto the said David Gingrich and to his heirs and assigns All that Certain tract or piece of Land Situate in the township of Derry aforesaid being Bounded and Described as follows, to wit, Beginning at a stone thence by other lands of the said David Gingrich North twenty eight degrees east sixty two perches and eight tenths of a perch to a stone North forty four and a quarter degrees West fifty six perches to a stone North sixty two and one quarter degrees East fifty seven perches and nine tenths of a perch to a rock North twenty three degrees West forty six perches and nine tenths of a perch to a Sassafras thence by said Land Conveyed or intended to be conveyed to John Bainze(sp?) South fifty one degres West one hundred and two perches and nine tenths of a perch to a stone thence by lands of of the heirs of Alexander Russel South nineteen and an half degrees East eighty perches and four tenths of a perch to a post South forty eight and an half degrees East thirty nine perches and an half to the Beginning Containing forty five & three quarters acres with the usual allowances of six percent of land It being a part of a larger tract of tract of lands which David Detwiler late of he township of Derry aforesaid deceased by virtue of sundry Conveyances and afssurances in the law duly had and executed became in his lifetime Lawfully seized in his desmesne, __ of fee, and being so thereof seized died having made his Last will and Testament Bearing date the ____ (blank space) day of ____ (blank space) Anno Domini by which he devised the said tract of Land unto his two sons Jacob and John aforesaid as in and by the said Last Will & Testament duly proven and Remaining in the Register's Office at Harrisburg Relation being threunto had more fully and at Large appearing Together with all and singular the houses, out-houses, buildings, barns, stables, ways, woods, waters, water-courses, rights, liberties, privilages heredetaments and appurtenaces whatsoever. Threunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversions and Remainders rents issues and profits thereof: And also all the estate right title interest property ____ and demands whatsoever of them the said Jacob Detwiler & John Detwiler in Law or equity or otherwise howsoever of in to or out of the same or every or any part thereof. To have and to hold the said tract of forty-five acres & three quarters of land hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said David Ginrich his heirs and assigns To the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said David Ginrich his heirs and assignes forever And the said Jacob Detwiler & John Detwiler for themselves their heirs executors and administrators do covenant, promise, grant and agree to and with the said David Ginrich his heirs and assigns by these presents that they the said Jacob Detwiler & John Detwiler the above mentined and described premises hereby granted or mentioned, intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said David Gingrich his heirs and assigns against the said Jacob Detwiler & John Detwiler and their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever Lawfully claiming or to claim shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. And further that they the said Jacob Detwiler & John Detwiler and their heirs and all and every other person or persons Lawfully claiming or to Claim, shall and will from time to time and at all times hereafter upon the Reasonable request and at the proper costs and charges in the Law of the said David Ginrich his heirs and assigns make do and execute or cause and procure to be made done and executed all and every such further and other Lawful and Reasonable act or acts, deed or deeds, devise and devises in the Law whatsoever, for the further better more perfect and absolute assurance and confirmation of the said tract of forty five acres & 3/4 acre of Land, Hereditaments, and premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said David Gingrich his heirs and assigns as by him or them or by his or their council S____ in the Law shall be Reasonabl advised devised or required In Witness whereof the said parties to these ____ presents have hereunto interchanged ___ set their hands and seals the day and year last above written Sealed and Delivered Jacob Detwiler (seal) in the presence of John Detwiler (seal) Henry Etter Elisha Green Received on the day of the date of the above Indenture and from the above named Davy Gingrich the sum of One thousand five hundred and four dollars in full for the Consideration money above mentioned Witness Jacob Detwiler Henry Etter, Elisha Green John Detwiler Dauphin County (seal) On the first day April Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and fifteen before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in & for the Said County personally came the above named Jacob Detwiler and John Detwiler and severally acknowledged the above indenture to be their act and deed to the end that the same might be Recorded as such.
