All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/dauphin/ _______________________________________________ 1829 3 April 1829 Dauphin County Deed Book C Vol 2 Page 24 Peter Gingrich & wife to John Gingrich This Indenture Made the third day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine Between Peter Gingrich of West Hanover Township, Dauphin County and State of Pennsylvania and Anna his wife of the one part and John Gingrich of the Township of Derry in the County of Dauphin aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth That the said Peter Gingrich & Anna his wife for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and three dollars and eighty cents current money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said John Gingrich and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the recipt and payments whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof acquit and forever discharge the said John Gingrich his heirs executors and administrators by these presents Have granted bargained sold aliened or enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents Do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release and confirm unto the said John Gingrich and to his heirs and assigns All that certain tract of woodland situate in the Township of East Hanover in the County of Lebanon and state of Pennsylvania aforesaid. Being bounded and described as follow viz Beginning at a chesnut Oak thence by land of Jacob Alberdale? North eighty eight degrees East ten perches and eight tenths to a stone, thence byland of Jacob Backadow? North sixty nine degrees East one hundred and fifty perches to a stone heap, thence by land of Nicholas Urich?, North twenty seven and a half degrees West one hundred and twenty seven perches and two tenths to a post thence South fifty nine and a half degrees West one hundred and twenty one perches to a Black oak, thence by land of Robert McMeese North twenty five degrees West seventeen perches and seven tenths to a chesnut Oak thence South thirty six degrees West thirty nine perches to a dogwood, thence by land of Henry D. Grubb South sixty five degrees West twenty five perches to a stone thence South twenty four degrees East twenty eight perches and four tenths to a Chesnut Oak thence by land of Thomas Clark North seventy degrees East eighty nine perches and seven tenths to a chesnut Oak then south twenty six degrees East fifty five perches and five tenths to the place of Beginning. Containing one hundred and thirty nine acres and ninety four perches of land strict measure It being that same tract of land which Thomas Harper Esq. High Sheriff of the County of Lebanon by several deed polls under his hand and seal bearing date the eighth day of April AD 1828 for the consideration therein Mentioned did by Virtue of certain writ of venditioni exposas therein recited grant and confirm unto the said Peter Gingrich and to his heirs and assigns reference to said recited deed polls being had will at large appear. Together with all and singular the buildings, improvements, rights, liberties, privileges,hereditaments and appurternances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any way appurtaining, and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereby. And also the estate, right, title, interest, property, claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Peter Gingrich & Anna his wife, in law, equity or otherwise, howsoever of into or and of the same To have and to hold the said above described tract or messuage of land hereditaments and premises hereby granted, mentioned or intended so to be, with the appurtenaces, unto the said John Gingrich his heirs and assigns. To the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said John Gingrich his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Peter Gingrich and Anna his wife for themselves, their heirs, executors, administrators do hereby covenant, promise, grant and agree to and with the said John Gingrich his heirs and assigns by these presents that they the said Peter Gingrich and Anna his wife & their heirs the above mentioned and described premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said John Gingrich his heirs and assigns against the said Peter Gingrich and Anna his wife and their heirs. In Witness whereof the said parties have to these presents hereunto interchangeably, set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. David Ferguson Dauphing County Before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for the said County personally came the above named Peter Gingrich and Anna his wife and acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and deed to the end that the same might be recorded as such. She the said Anna being of full age and by me separately and apart from her said husband examed and the contents of the said indeture being by me fully made known to her on her said private examination she declared that she voluntarilly and of her own free will and accord and without any coercion or compulsion on the part of her said husband did sign, seal, and execute the same. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Third day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine. Recorded June 3 AD 1829 David Ferguson
