January 29, 1880 Last evening near Highspire, Dauphin county, a boy named Sherman Kipp, in attempting to jump upon a passing freight train, slipped and fell under the cars and had one of his legs terribly crushed. He was taken to his home at Highspire and the mangled limb was amputated by Dr. Orth, of Harrisburg.
