Dayhoff, a conductor on the Steelton and Highspire Railroad, was instantly killed when he slipped on the rails, falling directly before an oncoming draft engine. His body was completely passed over by the engine and several cars, and was badly mangled. Mr. Dayhoff was 28 years old and had worked on the Steelton and Highspire Railroad for about twelve years. He had resided at Roop and Penn streets, Highspire, for the past six years and was well known in that borough. He was a prominent lodge man, belonging to several fraternal orders, among which are the P. O. S. of A. and the Red Men. Mr. Dayhoff is survived by his wife and one son, three years old. Daffhoff, who was killed in the yards of the Steel plant here on Wednesday night, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home of his uncle, Thomas Larkin, Highspire. Burial will be made in the Highspire Cemetery. The Rev. Pee, pastor of the Highspire Lutheran Church, will officiate.
