Hetrick, Contractor, and Civil War Veteran, Dies at the Age of 70 David H. Hetrick, 70 years old, one of the most prominent of the city's carpenter contractors, died early this morning at his home, 1513 Regina street, after nearly a year's illness of a complication of diseases. He was identified with the erection of many of the public and private buildings in Harrisburg and was foreman in charge of the Boll contracting firm during the erection of the Board of Trade Building on Market street and the Maclay street schoolhouse. Mr. Hetrick continued in active work until less than two years ago when his advanced age compelled him to retire. He was the youngest member of Post 58, G. A. R., having enlisted in the Union Army during the Civil War at the age of 15 years and for thirty-five years was prominently identified with the growth of Allison Hill. He came to this city from Grantville, this county. Surviving are his wife, four children, Frank F., John E., and Miss Dora, at home, and the Rev. W. H. Hetrick, of Westminster, Md.; two grandchildren and three brothers. The funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Shoop's Church, the Rev. L. C. Menges, the pastor of the Memorial Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Shoop's Church Cemetery.
