Hummel, died in the Bellefonte Hospital last evening, 29 years old. Mr. Hummel had been ill since last April and his death was caused by complications. He is survived by his wife and one young son, Valentine Lorne Hummel, Jr. Mrs. Hummel is bringing the body to Harrisburg, for funeral services and burial and will arrive at 5:30 o'clock this evening. The funeral arrangements will not be made until she reaches here, but it is expected the service will be held sometime on Friday at the Hummel home, 107 South Front street. Mr. Hummel was well known in this city. He conducted for a number of years an agency for numerous transatlantic steamship companies. He was an heir to the Hummel estate and assisted in its management with Captain H. J. MacDonald, U.S.A. He conducted the Fort Washington dance pavilion in Fort Washington Park, part of the Hummel estate, for several years. The pall bearers were; B. Boyd Harrington, V. H. Berghaus, Jr., William H. Middleton and Herman Kiehl. The Rev. Dr. George Edward Hawes, pastor of the Market Square Presbyterian Church, officiated.
