A middle division engineer, most recently employed as a hostler, died at his home in Harrisburg, Friday, aged 57 years. Heart disease was the cause. He had been a railroader for thirty years and during the war served his country well. He was a member of post 116, Grand Army of the Republic, Harrisburg; Harmony castle, Knights of the Golden Eagle, Harrisburg; of lodge 68, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Harrisburg, and of the Free and Accepted Masons, of Huntingdon. He is survived by his wife and several children. The funeral took place at Mifflin today. Altoona Mirror, January 28, 1895, page 8
