Crash A Harrisburg flagman lost his life and the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad sustained $500,000 loss at Allentown yesterday, when a seventy-three car freight train, running wild after the engineer had lost control and been thrown from his cab, collided with an empty passenger train which was just pulling into the station. Twenty-eight cars were wrecked and two locomotives were hurled over the embankment. Howard Marks, 1622 North street, this city, flagman on the passenger train, was killed in the collision and two other railroaders sustained serious injuries. Marks was a brakeman on the Reading for a number of years. He was a brother of Mrs. Isabella McCreary, whose husband was killed in the Reading wreck at Hunter's Run ten years ago. FUNERAL OF HOWARD MARKS The funeral services for Howard Marks, who was killed in the Allentown wreck yesterday, will be held at his home, 1622 North street, this city, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, with the Rev. S. W. Herman officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Holly Springs Cemetery. Mr. Marks is survived by his son, Herman, five brothers, Levi, Albert, Oliver, Henry and Daniel, and two sisters, Isabelle and Mary.
