Nunemaker, 127 South Front street, while playing in the street in front of her home at 1:45 o'clock this afternoon was instantly killed when a street car going south struck her and dragged her for a long distance between the wheels of the front truck. It was necessary to jack up the front end of the car to extricate her badly mangled body from beneath the truck. The body was taken to Wilt's undertaking parlors and the parents of the little girl notified. Her father is employed in the Koppers plant of the Bethlehem Steel Company. The family had resided in Highspire for some time only removing to Steelton a short time ago. The girl was struck by Steelton Car No. 62 which had just discharged passengers at Walnut street and was proceeding slowly behind an automobile when the little girl ran directly in front of the car, between it and the automobile, and was run down before the car could be stopped. The car was driven by R. S. Bogner, with G. E. Hoyer as conductor, both of whom reported at the main offices upon their arrival in Harrisburg. The Coroner had not been notified up until a late hour this afternoon.
