All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/dauphin/ _________________________________________ Sudden Death - Yesterday afternoon about half past five o'clock Thomas Rhoads, a blacksmith, employed at the Franklin Works of Messrs. Jennings & Co, corner of South and Short streets suddenly fell over and expired. A physician was sent for and every effort made to revive him, but without success. Coroner Porter was notified, and summoning a jury, proceeded to hold an inquest. After hearing the evidence a verdict was rendered "that the said Thomas Rhoads came to his death from disease of the heart." The deceased was about forty seven years of age, was married and resided in Strawberry Alley. He has been employed at the works for a number of years and was considered a good worker.
