January 3d. - Unknown man burned to death at cinder bank, Paxton furnace. 8th - John E. REEDER, killed on the Pennsylvania railroad by falling off a train. 15th - Henry E. MYERS, found dead in bed at Mrs. ROSHER's boarding house, Pennsylvania avenue. 23d. - John W. MORRISON, killed in the yards of the Pennsylvania railroad company; an employee. 31st - Emanuel TUCE, smothered in a pea coal chute at Williamstown breaker. February 10th - Mary CROTTY, found dead in bed at Steelton. 13th - Mary A. WALKER, dislocation of the neck by falling down stairs. 13th - Samuel J. LYONS found dead in Citizen engine house. Death caused by an epileptic fit. 17th - Lawrence SHAUMPER, killed by a fall of rock in Lykens Valley mines. 27th - Alex. SNYDER, found drowned in the Pennsylvania canal near Paxton bridge; buried by friends. March 14th - Ed S. MADDEN, scalded at No. 2 blast furnace, Steelton; died at hospital. 29th - Chas. KNAUSS, killed by a fall of slate in Williamstown colliery. 29th - Montgomery S. GILBERT, killed on the Pennsylvania railroad at warehouse siding. April 3d. - John FRANTZ, found dead in bed in Londonderry township. 5th - John S. WILT, killed on the elevator at the open hearth furnace, Steelton. 9th - Henry C. HOFFMAN, killed by a rush of coal in Lykens colliery. 10th - Samuel GANTNER, killed in the yards of the Pennsylvania railroad company; trespassing. 16th - Frank BEATY, killed on the Pennsylvania railroad at the Market street crossing. 23d. - George KNULL, killed on the Pennsylvania railroad at Dauphin, while picking coal. May 4th - Annie NEWPORT, suicide by taking paris green. 5th - Ambrose TAYLOR, found dead in bed at the Bomgardner House; heart disease. 5th - John W. WITMAN, fell down while chopping wood below Steelton. 9th - John GRERS, killed by a fall of rock in Williamstown colliery. 16th - Charles PIERCE, scalded by the bursting steam of a pipe at No. 4 blast furnace, Steelton. 17th - Alex VONASDEL, fell dead on the street at Foster and Elder streets. 18th - Samuel BUTLER, fell down while talking to a man at Highspire. 21st - Michael MULCAHEY, killed on the Pennsylvania railroad at Bates' crossing, above the city. 28th - Wm. H. WILSON, killed in the yards of the Pennsylvania railroad company. 29th - Susan JACKSON, died suddenly of apoplexy. 31st - William GILDAY, fell dead of apoplexy at Dauphin. June 10th - Frank and Ellen R. DIVELY, killed by lightening on Eleventh street. 12th - Edith May MOCHERMAN, drowned in a water closet. 15th - Jas. J. RYAN, accidentally shot by Henry KISSEL at. Col. YOUNG's farm. 25th - Thomas GALLAGHER, killed at the asylum crossing. 30th - Jeremiah BURCH, Steelton; heart disease; died suddenly. July 6th - John E. CARTER, accidentally drowned in the Pennsylvania canal. 8th Andrew POORMAN, Middletown, fell dead on the street; paralytic. 11th - Andrew WAGNER, killed on the Pennsylvania railroad near the Mulberry street crossing. 15th - Wm. STEWART, Susquehanna township, paralysis of the heart. 19th - James WILSON, killed on the Pennsylvania railroad below the depot. 26th - Raub Paul M'NEELY, Dauphin, accidentally drowned in Robinson's dam. 29th - Elizabeth KERE, Lower Swatara township, found dead; apoplexy. 28th - Benjamin H. JOHNSON, Steelton, found dead in a shanty. August 6th - Harry M'CAHAN, accidentally drowned in the Pennsylvania canal. 9th - Unknown man killed in the yards of the Cumberland Valley railroad at Bridgeport. 12th - Jacob M'COMAS, killed by the caving of a dirt bank on State street. 15th - Thomas FITZ killed at Crembler's quarries by the caving in of a dirt bank. 29th - George EBERSOLE, suicide by shooting himself. 31st - John ANDRASS, Middletown, caught between cars at the pipe mill. September 11th - Francis J. MINNER, killed on the Pennsylvania railroad below Middletown. 14th - Christian DOWES, Steelton, found dead in bed. 21st - Wm. E. KOCHER, killed by a boiler explosion at the Lykens Valley coal mines. 25th - Unknown man found dead in Hoffman's woods. 27th - Robert JACKSON, died suddenly of hemorrhage of the lungs. October 3d. - Margaret WAHLING, found dead in bed; heart disease. 11th - Unknown child found dead in the woods back of Steelton. 16th - Elizabeth WALLACE, killed on the Pennsylvania railroad opposite the Cumberland Valley depot. 28th - Abner BALL, Steelton, killed on the Pennsylvania railroad while crossing the tracks. November 5th - Josiah SNYDER, killed in the yards of the Pennsylvania railroad company. 25th - Christianna BERKLEY, found dead in bed; heart disease. 26th - Unknown man, injured in the yards of the Pennsylvania railroad company; died at the hospital. 28th - Frank KEENER, killed on the Pennsylvania railroad at the Second street crossing.
