All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/dauphin/ _________________________________________ ACTIVITIES IN THE REALM OF SOCIETY AND OTHER PERSONAL NOTES One of the most attractive of war weddings was solemnized last evening when Miss Elsie Rettinger, 2450 Reel street, became the bride of Frank Hetzel Davies, Jr., who is stationed with the Eighth Pennsylvania Infantry Band, at Camp Wadsworth, Spartanburg, S. C. The ceremony took place at the parsonage of the Augsburg Lutheran Church and was in charge of the Rev. Amos M. Stamets, pastor. The bride wore a gown of grey georgette with hat to match and a corsage bouquet of trench flowers and Ophelia roses. She was attended by Mrs. Hewitt G. Zullinger, of Mt. Holly, sister of the bridegroom, Mr. Zullinger acted as best man. Mrs. Davies is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Rettinger and is a graduate of Coombs Conservatory of Music, Philadelphia. Mr. Davies is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Davies, 2009 Green street. Mr. Davies, Sr., is one of Harrisburg's best known comedians. The bridegroom is a graduate of Technical High School, where he was prominent in athletics and a member of the school orchestra for four years. Mr. and Mrs. Davies will spend part of the honeymoon at Mt. Holly. Mr. Davies is home on a five-day furlough. The Evening News, Harrisburg, Penna., Saturday, July 6, 1918
