Thompson, 437 South Fourteenth street, Saturday evening, when Miss Iva Marie Thompson became the wife of Sergeant Richard Brown Maxwell, the Rev. Dr. Clayton Albert Smucker officiating. The bride's trainless gown was made fashionably short, of taupe satin enveloped in clouds of silk tulle with bodice of satin folds in high girdle effect. She carried a shower bouquet of orchids. Miss Ellen Thompson, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Vance Henry Wolfe was best man. Sergeant Maxwell is located at Camp A. A. Humphreys, Virginia. He is connected with the base hospital. More than a year ago he enlisted in the U. S. Army. He is the son of Mrs. S. E. Maxwell, Washington, D. C. Only relatives and close friends were the guests at the ceremony and reception which followed. The newly married couple left for a short wedding journey through the South. After the war they will take up their residence in Harrisburg. The Evening News, Harrisburg, Penna., Monday, July 8, 1918
