E. Meckley LIEUT. AND MRS. CHARLES EDWARD MECKLEY [photo] Lieutenant and Mrs. Charles Edward Meckley, who completely surprised their many friends by the announcement of their wedding which occurred on Tuesday afternoon at 3.30 o'clock in the First Methodist Church, Lancaster, with the pastor, the Rev. Edward A. Bawden, officiating, have returned to the home of the bride and will remain there until Lieutenant Meckley returns to Camp Hancock, where he is stationed with the Machine Gun Company. Like most military weddings of today, the affair had to be quickly arranged owing to Government orders, the only attendants being Mrs. R. J. Robinson and Miss Ellen Robinson, an aunt and cousin of the bride, who reside in Lancaster. Mrs. Meckley was formerly Miss Ellen Hoover, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Hoover, of Penbrook, and for a number of years has been the assistant of her father, who is postmaster at Penbrook. She expects to continue with the work while her husband is in the Army. Previous to his enlistment, Lieutenant Hoover was connected with the First National Bank in this city. He expects to return to Camp Hancock tomorrow.
