L. Van Aken, a College Mate [photos] MILLERSBURG, July 11 - Homer Lansing Van Aken and Miss Helen I. Wingard were married yesterday morning at 9 o'clock in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church by the Rev. J. H. Mussleman, pastor of the church of which the bride has been a member from childhood. Miss Wingard, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Wingard, of this place, is a graduate of the 1913 class of the Millersburg High School and of the 1917 class of Pennsylvania State College. Mr. Van Aken is the son of De Baum Van Aken, of Amsterdam, New York. He is also a graduate of Pennsylvania State College class of 1916, and since then he has been employed in a trust company in Amsterdam and the National City Bank, New York. After a brief wedding trip near Castleton-on-the Hudson, the young couple will be at home in Amsterdam for a few months only, when Mr. Van Aken, who has enlisted in the U. S. service, will be engaged as a chemist and Mrs. Van Aken will make her home in Millersburg during his enlistment. Just before the family left the house for the wedding at the church Miss Prudence Wingard, sister of the bride, announced her engagement to Prof. William Etzweiler, of this place, now dean of Pennington Seminary, N.
