    Notes Across The Century ...
 
          We have in our Church today a number of people who are descendents 
    of original trustees of the Media Methodist Church.
            Two of these are Corrine Elizabeth WOOD,  and Kathleen Velma 
    WOOD daughters of Marjorie WOOD (nee SMITH), who are sixth 
    generation descendents of HIRAM PYLE. HIRAM and his wife Mary had a 
    daughter named Sarah who became Mrs. George LYNCH. Her son Charles 
    had four children, G. Stanley a former member of our Church, Corita SMITH 
    (mother of Marjorie Ann), an active member of our Church, C. OTLEY, 
    a Church member, and the late S. H. LYNCH, who was very active in the 
    youth work of church.
          Founder JABEZ LAWTON and his wife Sarah five children (Sarah, Martha,
    Hannah, Elizabeth, and Jabez, Jr.) Jabez, Jr. and his wife Alice who attend 
    Gradyville Methodist Church had nine children (Amy, Laura, Martha, Sarah, 
    J. Fred, May, Lillian, Jabez, and Harry). Of these third generation descendants
    J. Fred joined this Church and he and his wife Ethel have two children (Lyda
    and Edward B.) who are also members of this Church. Edward B. and his
    wife Alma have two children, Barry and Nat LAWTON in our Sunday School, 
    who are fifth general descendants of JABEZ Lawton, Sr.
            A third member of the original Trustees, JOHN HARDCASTLE, is
    represented in our Church today by his granddaughter, Mrs. Carrie S.
    HARDCASTLE.
