The following sentence was written in a different hand than that of the rest of the page from which it was taken: Statistics inclusive of Sept'r 8th 77 commence the ?? statistics here. The following name(s) is/are believed to be: William Hi?s? William Hirse or Hinse, or Hirst - The H and i are clear, the 3rd char could be an n or an r, and the last letter could be a t, but looks closer to an e. However, it is taller than the letter before it, and is followed by a dash - a late t cross perhaps. Robert S. Ben?ley could be Bensley or Bentley, but no crossing of the t is observed. In the following sentence, 2 characters were inserted before the word Baptist. They are superscript, and appear to be the letters; PO Henry Steelman, from Burlington, N.Y. ?? After the normal opening exercises, Mrs. Jane Mitchell & Catherine M. Tarry . who, had some time ago recieved letters of dismission from us, which they had not had occasion to use, were restored to membership with us. The fellowship of the church was withdrawn from William Hi?s?, Robert Wallace, William Schofield, Robert S. Friday, Jan'y. 4th, 1878. Regular Church Meeting. Opened with singing, reading the scriptures & prayer. Wm. H. Burns & Mrs. Leah Burns, was recieved for Baptism on report from Village Green Mission Station. The following eight persons were appointed ushers for year 1878. Joseph Compton, Robert Wolfenden, George Marsh, M.P.Hannum, Albert Chadwick, John Priestly, Wm. McGowen, & John Taylor. The hand of fellowship was withdrawn from the fol- lowing persons after visitation by the pastor at their own request.(dropped.) Allen Gartside, Christopher Dransfield, Josiah Smith, John Ardis, Jr. Messrs. Cardwell & J. Lewis Crozer were appointed a committee to audit the Treasurer's accounts.
