                                      Chester Times
                            NINETY-SEVENTH PENNSYLVANIA VOLUNTEERS
 
          The surviving members of this Regiment met in Cabinet Hall,
      West Chester, last Saturday and formed a permanent organization,
      by the adoption of a constitution and by-laws and the election of
      the following officers, who will serve for one year:
          President--*Col. H. R. GUSS.    
          1st Vice President--Isaac A. CLEAVER.
          2nd Vice President--Capt. Wm. WAYNE.
          3rd Vice President--G. A. LEMAISTRE
          Secretary--Leonard R. THOMAS.
          Treasurer--Oliver B. CHANNEL
          Executive Committee-- Sergeant Major, S.W. HAWLEY, Robert 
      FAIRLAMB, HERMAN P. BROWER, Wm. H. EVES and W. S.
      UNDERWOOD.
          Among those present were the following members of Company G:
      Captain, Caleb HOOPES, Media; Lieutenants, M. J. BURRELL,
      Chester, and W.H.EVES, Chester. Privates, **Hillary FOX, West 
      Chester; C. OTTEY, Media; J. CULVERT, Chester; Joseph R.
      PARSONS, Chester; Charles GRAY, Chester; C. D. WILSON, 
      Chester.
