(Clearfield, Pa.) January 27, 1858 George King, a son of Rev. H. G. King, of Aston, aged 14, was fatally injured on the 16th. He was engaged splitting wood, and attempted to expedite his work by boring a hole into a log, filling it with powder, and blowing it to pieces. He applied a slow match, but remaining too near, a fragment of the log struck him on the forehead, over the eyes, inflicted a ghastly wound, from the effects of which he died the next day.
