Leon E. Brower, a former resident of Spring City, ended his life by firing a 
bullet from a .38 calibre (sic) revolver into his brain yesterday at his home 
near Pughtown.  

Deputy Coroner Cooper T.. Bishop, Jr, of Phoenixville, issued a certificate of 
death by suicide after his body was found in the bedroom of his home by his 
widow.

It was said Mr. Brower suffered from a nervous condition for several years and 
had been a patient in hospitals.  He resided n Spring City until six years ago, 
when he moved to a Pughtown farm.

Mr. Brower was born in Whitford.  He lived practically all of his life in 
Spring City and was a stove molder by trade.  He is survived by his widow, two 
sons and a brother.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Kimes and 
Nelson Funeral Home, 331 New Street, Spring City. Burial will be in Zion’s 
Cemetery.
