April 7, 1865 DELAWARE COUNTY REPUBLICAN ANOTHER VICTIM. - In our obituary column will be found a notice of the death of Sergeant JOSHUA EYRE DYER, son of John G. Dyer, of this Borough, who died at Florence, South Carolina, on the 15th of February last. Young Dyer enlisted at early period of the war in the Fifth Pennsylvania Cavalry, and served faithfully for three years. He re-enlisted, and was taken prisoner by the enemy, at ReamStation, in June last. He had been promoted to a Lieutenancy, but was captured before he received his commission. He was a brave and generous young man, a patriot at heart, who was willing to sacrifice his life for his country. He fell a victim to the diseases that wait on those who are cast into rebel prisons. We sincerely sympathize with his family and friends upon the loss of one so full of promise as the subject of this brief notice.
