HINKSON OBIT 1935 COLONEL JOHN W. HINKSON 19 October 1935 COLONEL JOHN W. HINKSON, veteran of the Civil and Spanish-American wars, died Saturday at his home 5325 Walnut street, Philadelphia. COLONEL HINKSON was 88, and had been ill two years. He was active in veterans' circles, and served as a volunteer patriotic instructor in the public schools of West Philadelphia, south of Market street. A native of Concord, Delaware County, COLONEL HINKSON spent a large part of his life in the Media section. He was a member of Bradbury Post. G. A. R.; Rosser Camp, United Spanish War Veterans, and the Masonic and Odd Fellows' fraternities. Surviving are his wife, and a son, DR. GEORGE W. HINKSON, dentist.
