RAYMOND P., son of MAUDE CAVANAUGH and the late EDWARD LAVELLE, formerly of Media, a member of Company B, 38th Infantry was killed in action February 14, 1945, in Germany. He graduated from Media High School, and had been overseas about two weeks when he met his death, he was 22 years of age. Received his basic training in Camp Wheeler, Ga. where he was sent in August, 1944. He left for overseas late in 1945. Prior to entering the service he was employed at the Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company. His body was brought from the HENRI CHAPEL CEMETERY, Belgium, by the funeral ship, ROBERT F. BURNS. Surviving is his widow, now Mrs. MILDRED S. BAER and by a daughter, Sandra J. of Parkside; his mother, Mrs. MAUDE LAVELLE of Parkside; two brothers, EDWARD F. of Essington and HAROLD J. of Parkside; three sisters, Mrs. AGNES BAKER, Media, Mrs. EDWARD LAMBERT, Ridley Township, and Mrs. GERTRUDE KIMBALL of Chester; and his grandmother, Mrs. JAMES KAVANAUGH of Rochester N.
