                                    J. L. LAWTON
 
          Funeral services for the late J. L. LAWTON were held yesterday at
      11 a.m., at the Hick's Funeral Home, West Chester, with the Rev.
      Russell WILKINS, of the Goshens Baptist Church, officiating.
          "Does Jesus Care," Mr. LAWTON's favorite hymn, was sung by
      Mrs. Edith WILKINS and Mrs. Rebecca CRAIG, accompanied by 
      Mrs. Bessie HETHERINGTON.
          Interment was at Birmingham Cemetery.
          Pallbearers were : EDWARD LAWTON; DONALD SHUFF; 
      MAURICE SPEAKMAN; ELLIS SPEAKMAN; RICHARD SHUFF;
      and FRANK TALLEY.
          Many friends called at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
