All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ LEVIS, Thomas Jefferson 13 December 1916 13 December 1916 Wednesday Chester Times THOMAS JEFFERSON LEVIS Former Resident of Delaware County Dies in Coatesville THOMAS JEFFERSON LEVIS, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. MARY McFARLAND, at Coatesville, yesterday about noon. He had been in ill health for sometime. He was in the ninety-first year of his age, was born at Gradyville and until the death of his wife, which occurred twenty-five years ago, lived in Delaware County, most of the time at the County Seat. He visited his grandson, HARVEY THOMPSON, at his home on West Second street, in the early Autumn. He was not in good health at that time. He had been ailing with heart and kidney trouble. Mr. LEVIS was a quiet living man and was highly respected. He was fond of walking and upon several occasions he hiked to Wilmington, Delaware, from Media. Many years ago, Mr. LEVIS united with the South Methodist Episcopal church, which he attended when living in the borough. For a time he lived at Lima. He then went to the LIMA METHODIST CHURCH. The deceased is survived by the following children: Mrs. RUSH (MARGARET) THOMPSON; Mrs. ELIZABETH THOMPSON, of Media; Mrs. ANNA DAVIS and Mrs. HARRIET PRESTON, of Wilmington, Del.; Mrs. EMMA WALTERS, of Philadelphia and Mrs. MARY McFARLAND, of Coatesville. The remains will be interred beside those of his wife at the LIMA METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH CEMETERY.
