                          J. L. Pennington Dies 
                               At Age of 65
                             22 January 1940
 
          The funeral of JOHN L. PENNINGTON, 65, was held Monday
      afternoon from the Quinby Funeral Home, 206 South Orange st.
      Rev. CHARLES V. HASSLER, pastor of Media Presbyterian
      Church, officiated.
          Mr. PENNINGTON was a former resident of Media and was an
      active member of the Media Swimming and Boating Club and
      Media Gun Club. He died January 19, in Maryland at the home of
      his brother with whom he had resided since his health began to fail.
          Mr. PENNINGTON is survived by a son, HENRY of Media; two
      sisters, Mrs. GERTRUDE PATCHELL of Upper Providence and
      Mrs. HARRY SMEDLEY of Philadelphia; and one brother, EDGAR
      PENNINGTON of Rock Hall.
