                             Obituaries

            Mrs. JANET BATIPPS REID, 59, a lifelong Media resident,
        died Sunday at her home, 222 Brooks st., after more than a
        year's illness. She had suffered a stroke in August, 1956.
            A member of Marple Baptist Church, she is survived by her
        husband, EARL H., her mother, Mrs. BESSIE BATIPPS,
        Chester; two daughters, Mrs. ROMAINE R. THOMPSON,
        Concordville; Mrs. EARLINE R. MANN, Chester; a son, 
        DAVID O., Chestertown, Md.; three sisters, Mrs. OSCAR
        READING, Mrs. LLOYD YOUNG and Mrs. ERNEST
        COLEMAN, all of Chester; a brother, CLARENCE BATIPPS,
        Morton and six grandchildren.
            Services will be tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Trinity UAME
        Church, 5th and Olive Sts. Burial will be in Rolling Green
        Cemetery. Friends may call at the church tonight from 7 to
        9.
