GEORGE SCHUCHARDT OBIT - MEDIA BARBER - 1949

                      SCHUCHARDT, GEORGE --- husband of the late 
          JANE ROSS SCHUCHARDT, and a leading barber, of Media, 
          died March 21, 1949, at the age of 78 years; at his residence 
          on West State street; at the age of about 12 years he left school 
          and went with his brother, FRANK SCHUCHARDT, in the barber
          business, on South Orange street, and at the death of his brother 
          took over the business, and has operated since a period of 66 years; 
          born in Philadelphia, Penna. 
              The barber Shop of FRANK SCHUCHARDT was located at
          108 South Orange street, following Frank's death the business was
          removed to 120 South Orange street, and a few years prior to
          GEORGE SCHUCHARDT's death the shop was again moved to
          217 West State street address.
              Mr. SCHUCHARDT was a member of the GEORGE W. BARTRUM
          Lodge, No. 298, F. & A. M., of Media; the Media Fire Co., No. 1;
          charter member of the Media Republican Club;  both FRANK L.        
          SCHUCHARDT, elected 3-24-1885, aged 29 years, and a past
          chancellor, Dec. 1889; and GEORGE SCHUCHARDT, elected by
          card - January 1, 1893; were active members of the old GARFIELD
          Lodge, No. 94, Knights of Pythias, of Media.
              Mr. SCHUCHARDT, was survived by his sister, Mrs. ELIZABETH
          KRAUSE of Philadelphia, Pa., and a nephew, WILLIAM KRAUSE,
          and a niece, HELEN KRAUSE; also by his brother-in-law, HORACE
          ROSS, also a member of GARFIELD Lodge, No. 94, elected
          7-14-1903, aged 22 years, who was associated in the barbering
          business with Mr. SCHUCHARDT for many years, and who continued
          the business after his brother-in-law's death. 
              Interment Media Cemetery.
