SUSAN H. SHARPLESS OBIT 1917
 
                        DEATH'S WORKS - SUSAN H. SHARPLESS
                                 11 September 1917
 
          At the age of 92 years, SUSAN H. SHARPLESS, died yesterday,
      her home being in Nether Providence, Delaware County. Her body 
      will be buried in the FRIENDS' BURIAL GROUNDS, 24TH and 
      CHESTNUT STREETS, CHESTER.
 
          She was the widow of JOHN SHARPLESS, and her home was
      near the famous SHARPLESS ROCK, on the trolley line, below
      Media, where the first SHARPLESS settled and began housekeeping
      in the year 1682.
 
          In the same neighborhood a JOHN SHARPLESS was murdered in
      in his stable early one evening, more than thirty years ago, and the
      affair was a subject of wide spread comment.
