  MORTUARY.-Ambrose Slaughter, aged 35 years, an active member of the Franklin 
Fire Company, died yesterday at his home on Mary street, Sourth ward, from 
consumption of the throat, contracted by exposure at a fire some time ago.  
Funeral to-morrow afternoon.  He makes the second member the Franklin has lost 
by death this year.

FUNERALS.-The funeral of the late Ambrose Slaughter took place yesterday 
afternoon from his late residence on Mary street near Penn and was largely 
attended.  The Franklin Fire Company, of which he was a member, and also the 
Hanley Hose and Moyamensing Hook and Ladder Companies were in attendance.  The 
services were conducted by the Rev. Noble Frame.  Interment was made in 
Chester Rural cemetery.
