He was a native of North Carolina, a member of the Second Baptist Church of Media, and President of the Media Branch of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION for the ADVANCEMENT of COLORED PEOPLE. Surviving are four sons: PAUL, GEORGE, THOMAS and HENRY, and one brother, REV. MANSFIELD SOMMERVILLE, pastor of the ENON BAPTIST CHURCH, West Grove, who made his home with his brother in Media.
