JOSEPHINE TIPPING Death of a Well-Known Woman of Media Mrs. JOSEPHINE TIPPING, a well known resident of Media, died at her home, at Seventh and Woodlyn avenues, Sunday afternoon 1.10 o'clock, following an illness of several weeks of broken down health. Deceased is survived by a husband, GEORGE TIPPING, two daughters, Mrs. CHARLES ANDERSON, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. WILLIAM ELLIS, of Philadelphia, and two sons, GEORGE TIPPING and WALTER TIPPING, of Media The funeral will take place at two o'clock Thursday afternoon from her late residence. Note: Several errors in the above Obituary, later Obituaries are correct. 12 July 1916 Wednesday Chester Times Funeral of Mrs. TIPPING The funeral of JOSEPHINE, widow of GEORGE TIPPING, will be held from her late residence, at Seventieth street and Woodland avenue, Philadelphia, tomorrow afternoon, at two o'clock. The deceased had not been in good health for some time. She was as well as usual Sunday night at midnight. At one o'clock Monday morning she had passed away. She was born in Delaware county, seventy-one years ago, was well known and highly esteemed. Prior to her death she made all arrangements for her burial, requested that her sons act as her pall bearers and that her grandchildren all dress in white the day she was placed at rest. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. CHARLES ANDERSON, Mrs. WILLIAM ELLIS, Mrs. GEORGE HAMILTON and WALTER TIPPING, of Philadelphia; GEORGE TIPPING, of Philmont, and J. HARRY TIPPING, a well known paperhanger of Media. When twins came to bless the home of her grandson, GEORGE TIPPING, in south Media, she expressed a wish that she might see her great- grandchildren, but she never had her desire gratified. TIPPING Yesterday afternoon the funeral of JOSEPHINE, widow of GEORGE TIPPING, occurred from her late home at Seventieth and Woodland avenue, Philadelphia. There were a number of relatives and friends in attendance. The pastor of one of the Methodist Episcopal churches officiated. Interment was made at MT. MORIAH Cemetery. The remains were carried to the grave by sons of the deceased, J. HARRY TIPPING, of Media; WALTER TIPPING, of Philadelphia, and GEORGE TIPPING, of Philmont, and sons-in-law, CHARLES ANDERSON, WILLIAM ELLIS and GEORGE HAMILTON, of Philadelphia.
