All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ NATHAN YOUNG, JR., FATAL ACCIDENT and OBIT 1878 02 October 1878 Daily Local News FATAL ACCIDENT.-- NATHAN YOUNG, JR., who has recently been working for Andrew FREEBORN, Jr., in Haverford township, Del. county, was killed in a most sudden and horrible manner on Tuesday of last week. He was bringing a load of grain or feed from Philadelphia, and when between the Cross-Keys and the toll-gate the horses must have tried to run away. Just what happened is not known, but Mr. YOUNG was found lying in the road by Dr. J. W ECKFELDT, the wagon having run over his head. His face and brow also showed a mark as though first kicked by one of the horses. His death must have been, almost instantaneous. He was buried on Thursday last from his home at Bryn Mawr where he leaves a wife and child.
