As I had to leave back my parental property worth 800 fl. and since I had already written several letters to my parents asking them to send me the appropriate part of my parental heritage, but neither got a response to my letter nor something else, I feel forced to most obediently apply to the Royal Court in Kassel for giving me information about the my parents' attitude and the value of my property. Further on, I most obediently ask you to hand out my property to the address of the G.G. Brethren Benedictum in St. Marystown, Elk County, Benzinger Postoffice, Pennsylvania, North America, since I urgently need the money to purchase a piece of land in the St. Marystown colony. I'm obediently expecting that my petition will find your merciful consideration. Yours sincerely GEORG GEITNER (page 1....of estate papers) KASTL Aug 24th, 1853 They accept their parents' legacy and made up their mind, EXCEPT our brother GEORG, who lives in America and is absent, that I(Willibald) will purchase the farm for 4300 fl. According to our decision, our brother Georg shal get nothing. Georg demanded to get 300 fl, BUT since our brother had left Germany at least 9 yrs ago without permission because the court had not accepted his request, Georg had claimed not more than 300 fl from his parents then. He already received 150 fl. which means he cannot demand more than 150 fl. at the most. But you have to consider that at the time when Georg left for America the farm was less worth than it is now. SO, he cannot claim more money from the heritage. After examining the mortgage-book, I can say that it lists besides a mortgage of 250 fl. , another 1108 fl, concerning Anna Margareth, nee Weber and 100 fl. with 4% interest rate a debt to WEalburga Sinser, occupation, the ministers cook. Whereupon Willibald remarks: during the purchase procedure of the farm my other's capital will be cancelled. Concerning the capital of Walburga Sinser, I can say it has been repaid already. Estate papers were all in old german, handwritten, difficult to decipher. A German school prinicpal deciphered them as a favor of which I was most appreciative. He also acquired some additional church records there. Thanks Bob Rogner!!!! These are just a few pages, but important ones. There is a letter written to the Kassel from a "GIRL" unhappy with Georg leaving the country......I am assuming this might've been his wife Elisabeth Eichenmuller, of whom he possibly sent for a year after arriving in America.
