For many years he was employed in the strip mining business by Rydesky Mining of Sterling Run. At the time of this retirement in 1973, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Surviving besides his wife are four sons, Vernon “Ted” Beldin of Emporium, Lloyd P. Beldin of Pleasantville, N.J., and Richard C. And Dennis H. Beldin, both at home; four daughters, Donna Cool of Sinnemahoning, Larua Arndt and Gladys Gibbs, both of Emporium, and Phyllis Gower of Houtzdale; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Beldin of Driftwood; a sister, Ruth Reed of Emporium; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Coopersmith- Condon Funeral Home, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Seth Stewart, pastor of the Sinnemahoning United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Gardner Hill Cemetery, Force. Additional Comments: "Tyler" in this context is usually Scattertown, Elk Co., PA. People in Scattertown used to get their mail at Tyler, which is in Clearfield Co, so Scattertown is often refered to as Tyler. Tyler and Scattertown are beside each other with the county line separating them. In searching for records, check both counties just to be certain.
