Tuttle Written by Publisher Saturday, 21 November 2009 Joseph L. Tuttle, 70, of Tucker Lane, Benezette, died on Friday at DuBois Regional Medical Center following a short illness. He was born August 4, 1939 in Ridgway, the son of the late Leslie and Agnes (Winslow) Tuttle. He married Ruth Miller, who is deceased. On April 1, 1967 he married his second wife Linda Cook of Benezette. In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by a son, Andrew Tuttle and a daughter, Christine Orenak, both of Benezette; two grandchildren, Sara and Allison Orenak and one sister, Helen V. Tuttle of Benezette. He is predeceased by his parents, first wife Ruth and a brother, Clarence “Bud” Tuttle. He is a graduate of Bennetts Valley High School and worked in local factories and as a truck driver, working with Keystone, Stackpole, St. Marys Equipment and Eagle Express, all in St. Marys as well as Rishel Lumber in Medix Run. He served in the U.S. Army with the military police in Alaska from 1962 to 1964 and continued service in the Army until 1968. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Force and lived all his life in Benezette. Visitation for Joseph L. Tuttle will be held on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Thomas Tyler officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley Legion, Post 978 Burial Detail. Interment will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Benezette.
