SHIELDS Ronald D. Shields, 54, 157 W. 4th, Waterford, died Monday at Saint Vincent Health Center. He was born June 5, 1924, in Washington Township, a son of Clara Gardner Shields of Waterford and the late David S. Shields, who died in 1938. He was employed as a clerk at the Western Auto Store in Waterford for the past nine years, and was a member of the Waterford First United Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Post 285 of Waterford, where he was past commander, the 40 & 8, and the Waterford Lions Club. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S.Marine Corps as a pharmacist's mate third class. Survivors include his mother, a brother, Melvyn L. Shields of McKeesport, and a sister, Mrs. Shelton (Autumn) Milk of Waterford. Friends may call at the Franklin L. Rupp Funeral Home in Waterford today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a service there Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. James Gilbert will officiate.
